The Fix

The Fix from Jared Radosevich on Vimeo.

This was created as a test of the new Vimeo app for iPhone. Pretty nice app. I am a big fan of Vimeo.

Sketches: Van Gogh

After Van Gogh Self-Portrait.

Created using the Brushes app on iPad.

Project of the Day: Flying

I recently saw a blog post of an artist that photographs herself flying. Her photographs look great and today I decided to try it myself. Here is the results.

*Update: Zoe tried it too!

Sketches: on whiteboard

Created as a demonstration for students.

Sketches: After Matisse

Created Thursday. After Madame Matisse (The Green Line) by Henri Matisse.

Sketches: Barber Shop

I made this drawing while reading Jayber Crow by Wendall Berry. The barber shop I frequent Gallatin is exactly like I imagine how Jayber’s first shop looked.

Sketches: hand

Starting today I am going to start posting pictures from my sketchbooks. I have read much lately on the importance of a creator working consistently. Andrew Peterson wrote about it here. One way that I believe an artist can stay consistent is to be accountable. To be accountable an artist must show work. These posts in the following days will be for me a way of staying accountable.

“it looks like…”

It was said to me this week, “It kind of looks like a Chuck Close painting. I mean with all of the color.”

Positive or Negative?

It is funny to me when someone qualifies what they are saying like they are prepared for a reaction. I am not that type of person. I take it positively. Chuck Close is a favorite of  mine. That the individual knows of a famous artist and would even compare the beginnings of a painting to Close is an honor.
